The goal of the server is to unite those of us with a love for Occult and Horror themed RP. This extends to venues, FCs, other likeminded communities, and players who would like to be involved in these themes.

The server aims to design & deliver occult & occult-adjacent content to the FFXIV RP community. As of the moment, there is no planned storyline for the group-- but this may change in the future.

Most quests will be of a "hook" nature that will allow you the freedom to choose what to do. Some people may offer to DM assignments, but the main format will be: Job Giver posts quest, people claim quest, and then you take it to RP it in your group, without supervision.

MAGPIES is not a literal organization (but as it is in its infancy, this could very well change), but a network of individuals who collaborate on, and distribute tasks. There is presently no acting management that oversees the individual organizations.

1. You and your character(s) must be 21+ to be a member of this server.
The nature of this server is to cater to occult RP, thus our themes will often be both dark and mature. Furthermore, adults tend to want to socialize & write with other adults, for numerous reasons. I obviously cannot enforce this rule, but I ask that you please be respectful of our wishes to not interact with minors.

2. This is an inclusive community.
Be nice. There is bound to be a wide collective of viewpoints and personalities in this server. Some, you will clash with-- but keep it cordial. Really, just don't be a jerk!

3. Keep NSFW in it's designated category.
All NSFW content must be confined to the NSFW section; in order to view this section, you must self-assign your role to include NSFW content. This might be a mature setting, but that is not automatic permission to post 21+ content. This rule applies to both Voice Chat & the In-Game Linkshell as well; keep it clean. Similarly, I don't care if you ERP, I really don't, but do not treat this server as your personal ERP hub. Absolutely no ERP in Magpie-specific property. Lastly: absolutely no Lalafel NSFW.

4. Be mindful of what channel you're posting in.
I personally have a food trigger, so this will be my main example: Food pictures must remain in the food channel. But this extends to all channels!

5. Your nickname should be set to your character name.
You absolutely must have at least your character's first name in your nickname (I understand some people may want to list alts, so no last name required). Additionally, you are more than welcome to include a preferred name in your nickname!

6. No controversial topics.
I do not want senseless drama in this server; this rule is firm. If you're wondering to yourself if a topic is controversial-- you probably have your answer by simply being unsure. You are, however, more than welcome to ask a moderator before sharing if you really feel the urge to share.

7. Abide by people's preferred roles.
This mainly concerns the open/closed DM status. I understand it may be difficult to remember to check someone's status, so you won't be reprimanded for your first offense.

8. Respect people's triggers.
As stated prior, this group will present dark and mature themes. Some of the content might make people uncomfortable-- it is your responsibility to respect the people you will be writing with, and under no circumstance use content that they find triggering. Do not discuss triggers in depth (ie: reason as to why the content is triggering) in the server, as this could potentially trigger someone else.

9. IC =/= OOC
Some of us play rude characters (of which I happen to be terribly guilty), please do not treat the writer as though they dislike you/your character! If you are unsure how the writer feels about you/your character-- ask. On an additional note, we are not IC 100% of the time. Please do not come into this server expecting everyone to be in character.
